I have netflix and love it. They may not have all the new releases, but they do have some and I like older movies anyway. It's also a great place to watch tv series, even thought they are usually a season or two behind tv.
And the best thing... no commercials. I watch a lot of TV on the network sites and I hate all the times their site will crash during a commercial and you can't fast forward to where you crashed without watching all the commercials again on some of the sites.
I don't have it. A friend of my daughter's has it and would bring her computer over to play movies. I noticed like cinemaman said, they don't keep up with the new movies. To me there are too many really old movies on it. Although I know there are people that really like the oldies. I'm not one of them.
I don't know just what you consider new movies but last year I was getting movies that were released in 2010 both on disk and streamed and this year I have streamed a number of movies that were released in 2011 and I consider that movies released in the current year as about as new as you can get them. Of course, the majority of the movies that I watch are much older since I have not gone to a movie theater since the 1970s and there are a number of movies made years ago that I consider the greatest of all time. In particular I would choose "Day of the Jackal" (1973),"Das Boot" (1981),"The Kingdom" (2007) as 3 of the best movies of all time (& I strongly recommend watching the additional information on the DVDs before watching them for greater insight).
I stream movies and TV shows from Netflix. Netflix's Christmas present for me this Christmas was marking up 13 movies plus 36 hours of TV shows on my "Instant Watch" Queue as going to be deleted on January First. Fortunately, there is almost nothing on TV this week that isn't a repeat other than "Closer" & "Rizzoli & Isles".
